Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
The short version: ContentHero is local-first. You can use the entire app without creating an account. Your captions stay on your devices and sync through your own private iCloud. We show no ads and never sell data. Anonymous usage events about the subscription screen do leave your device; they never include your captions, photos or anything you write. Section 7 says exactly what is collected.
1. Who we are
ContentHero is developed by Webkoding ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected].
2. Data stored on your device
- Your content — topics you type or dictate, generated captions, hashtags and saved hooks are stored on your device and, if iCloud is enabled, in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database. We cannot read your iCloud data.
- Preferences — chosen platforms, voice, caption length and language are stored locally.
- API keys — if you connect your own OpenAI or Anthropic key, it is stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device and sent only to that provider when you generate.
3. Photos
"Caption from photo" analyzes images entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Your photos are never uploaded to us or to any third party by this feature.
4. Caption generation
When you generate captions, the topic you provide is sent to the AI engine you selected solely to produce the result. Prompts are not used to build advertising profiles.
- Hero AI (built-in) — your topic and caption settings (platforms, voice, length, language, hashtag count) are sent to our caption server, which forwards them to Google Gemini to write the captions and returns the result. Our server does not store your topic or the captions. Google processes the request under the Gemini API terms.
- To keep the free tier fair, the app sends an anonymous, randomly generated device identifier with each request. Our server keeps only a daily request count for that identifier; it is not linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
- Your own OpenAI / Anthropic key — the request goes directly from your device to that provider; it does not pass through our server.
5. Optional account (Sign in with Apple)
Signing in is optional. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive the name/email Apple shares (you can hide your email). It is used only to personalize the app and link your subscription. There is no ContentHero server holding a copy of your content.
6. Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use Adapty to validate receipts and manage subscription status. Adapty receives purchase metadata (transaction identifiers, product, region, device platform) — never your captions. See Adapty's privacy policy.
7. App-usage analytics
ContentHero uses Google Analytics for Firebase to record anonymous usage events about the subscription screen — that it opened, which button led to it, and whether a plan was started. Firebase also records a device-generated identifier, the app version and a coarse region.
These events contain none of your content: no captions, no photos, no prompts, no drafts and nothing you type. They are not linked to an account, and we never use them for advertising.
8. Notifications
Daily hook alerts and post-time reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. You can disable them anytime in iOS Settings.
9. What we don't do
- No advertising SDKs, and no advertising use of the analytics we do collect
- No selling or sharing of personal data
- No reading of your synced content
10. Data deletion
Settings → Account → Delete account & data removes everything immediately: local data, Keychain keys and the subscription link. Because ContentHero is local-first, there is no server copy to request — deleting on-device is the deletion. You can also remove iCloud data via iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud.
11. Your rights (GDPR / KVKK / CCPA)
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data. Since your data lives on your devices, most of these are in your hands already — for anything else, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
12. Children
ContentHero is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect their data.
13. Changes
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
